Our story

We started Keepwell because small businesses deserve better.

Too many talented people were spending their evenings wrestling with spreadsheets instead of doing the work they love. We built Keepwell Books to change that — one clean set of books at a time.

2018

Founded with purpose

Built for the people who build things.

Keepwell Books was founded in 2018 by a team of bookkeepers and small business advocates who saw the same problem everywhere: brilliant people running great businesses, but drowning in financial admin they never signed up for. We are a virtual team operating in the cloud. It maximizes efficiency allowing us to offer the best value for your hard-earned dollar.

We set out to create a bookkeeping service that felt less like a chore and more like a trusted partnership. One where you always know where you stand, where nothing falls through the cracks, and where tax season is just another month.

Today we work with over 200 small businesses and freelancers across the country — from yoga studios to roofing companies, from solo consultants to growing retail brands. Every client gets the same thing: calm, careful, consistent bookkeeping.

What we believe

Our values guide every ledger we touch.

01

Clarity over complexity

Your finances should be easy to understand. We translate numbers into plain language so you can make confident decisions without needing a finance degree.

02

Proactive, not reactive

We don't wait for problems to surface. We stay ahead of your books so surprises stay rare and your year-end is always smooth.

03

Relationships over transactions

We're not a faceless platform. We're a small team that genuinely cares about the businesses we work with — and it shows in how we communicate.

04

Quiet reliability

The best bookkeeping is the kind you don't have to think about. We work in the background so you can stay focused on what matters most.
